South Africa · Table Mountain, two oceans, and a city between them
Cape Town sits where the Atlantic meets the false bay of the Indian Ocean, wedged beneath Table Mountain's flat basalt ridge. Few cities pack this much geography into a single view — beach, mountain, vineyard, and harbor are all visible from the right rooftop.
It's also a city of distinct, walkable neighborhoods: the Bo-Kaap's brightly painted houses, the harborside redevelopment of the V&A Waterfront, and the wine estates of Constantia just twenty minutes from downtown.
November to March (local summer) brings warm, dry weather — though it's also peak season and prices rise accordingly.
Cape Town International Airport (CPT) is about 20 minutes from the city center by car or the MyCiTi airport bus.
