Exquistay is an editorial travel magazine with an inspirational and referral function. We do not offer travel services ourselves, do not enter into travel, transport, or accommodation contracts, and do not accept payments for bookings. Bookings are made exclusively through embedded widgets and links provided by independent third parties (including airlines, hotel portals, and car rental providers, arranged via the Travelpayouts affiliate network). The privacy notices of these third-party providers apply in addition to this policy as soon as you use such a widget or navigate to an external site.
When you access our website, the browser used on your device automatically sends information to our website's server (including IP address, date and time of the request, browser type, operating system, referring search engine, and page requested). This data is temporarily stored in a log file and is used for the technical provision and security of the website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
We use cookies and comparable technologies (e.g. local storage) on our website. Strictly necessary cookies are required for the basic operation of the site, for example to store your language preference (German/English) or to remember that you have dismissed the cookie notice; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functioning website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).
In addition, our search and booking widgets and the underlying Travelpayouts affiliate network (embedded via, among others, the domains tpwdgt.com and tp-em.com) set their own cookies when this content loads, in order to process search queries, display offers, and attribute bookings referred by us for commission purposes (affiliate tracking). These cookies are set as soon as a page containing the relevant widget is loaded. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in financing this free service through commissions (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR); to the extent these cookies process personal data, section 5 below applies in addition.

If you sign up for our newsletter, we use the email address provided exclusively to send you the content you subscribed to (destinations, stories, and deals). Search and booking widgets embedded on our website, as well as links to flight, hotel, and car rental offers, are provided through affiliate programs (including Travelpayouts). As soon as you actively use such a widget or click a corresponding link, you leave our site or enter into direct contact with the respective third-party provider, who is solely responsible for data processing on their end. We may receive a commission in connection with this, at no additional cost to you.
You have the right at any time to request information about your personal data stored with us, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of processing (Art. 15 GDPR), as well as the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
